Another great year at the Rumba on the Lumber as the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office once again participated in the Chili Cookoff.
The “Chain Gang Chili” team did a great job by winning two awards this year. Strangest Ingredient, which we also won last year, and the Peoples Choice Award as voted by the people sampling the Chili. There were several new teams this year and we knew competition would be tight, but we didn’t let that deter us from serving up the very best we had to offer. We had our eyes on Gary Strickland, Patrick Dial and team due to their reputation as fine cooks. We gave him a hard time but in the end, Gary walked over to congratulate us. By the way, the strangest ingredient we used was anchovies. 🥴🏃♂️
